FROM THE WEST SIDE OF CHARLOTTE, WHERE OUR MIGRANT PARENTS BUILT THEIR LEGACY THROUGH THEIR FIRST CONVENIENCE STORE, JEMAN EXPRESS, TO ROCK HILL, WHERE THEY OPENED THEIR SECOND STORE, MAMA YALA, WE LEARNED THE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD FOOD AND COMMUNITY. OUR JOURNEY HAS ALWAYS BEEN ROOTED IN CONNECTION.
AS THREE BROTHERS, WE TURNED THESE LESSONS INTO A PASSION FOR CRAFTING FOOD THAT BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER. REMODELING MAMA YALA IN LATE 2022, WE CREATED SUREFIRE—A MODERN TAKE ON THE CONVENIENCE STORE, FOCUSED ON GOOD FOOD, COMMUNITY, AND ACCESS. SUREFIRE STOOD AS A COMMUNITY CORNERSTONE, PROVIDING QUALITY MEALS, ESSENTIAL GOODS, AND A GATHERING SPACE FOR OUR NEIGHBORS. FROM FAMILY MEALS TO NEIGHBORHOOD EVENTS, SUREFIRE WAS A PLACE WHERE CONNECTION FLOURISHED.
WHEN A FIRE BROKE OUT, IT FELT LIKE WE LOST MORE THAN JUST A STORE—WE LOST A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY. BUT THE FIRE WASN'T THE END; IT BECAME THE START OF A NEW CHAPTER. THE SUPPORT FROM SUNSET PARK AND BEYOND HAS BEEN A TESTAMENT TO THE IMPACT SUREFIRE HAS MADE. AS WE NAVIGATE THIS CHALLENGE THROUGH OUR FOOD TRUCK, WE REMAIN COMMITTED TO STAYING CONNECTED WITH THE COMMUNITY AND CONTINUING TO SERVE. THE FOOD TRUCK IS A TEMPORARY BRIDGE—A WAY TO KEEP THE SPIRIT OF SUREFIRE ALIVE WHILE WE WORK TOWARDS REBUILDING SOMETHING EVEN GREATER. WE SEE A FUTURE WHERE SUREFIRE IS NOT JUST REBUILT, BUT REIMAGINED—A PLACE OF INNOVATION, CONNECTION, AND COMMUNITY PROSPERITY.
Quality That Never Folds.
